Diagnostic Check

A warning light doesn't always mean an expensive repair. We use dealer-level diagnostic equipment, read the fault codes and — crucially — carry out the testing needed to confirm the actual cause, rather than just guessing from a code.

What's included

  • Full-system fault code scan (engine, ABS, airbag, transmission, body)
  • Live data analysis
  • Root-cause testing, not just code reading
  • Plain-English explanation and a quote for any repair

Signs you need this

  • Engine management (check engine) light on
  • Loss of power or 'limp mode'
  • ABS, airbag or traction control warning
  • Rough idle, misfires or poor fuel economy

Diagnostic Check FAQs

Is it safe to drive with the engine light on?

If it's flashing, stop as soon as safely possible — that usually means a misfire that can damage the catalytic converter. A steady light is less urgent but should be checked soon.

Is the diagnostic fee taken off the repair?

Diagnostics are charged separately for the time spent finding the fault. If you then go ahead with the repair, any credit is agreed with you individually.

Can you work on hybrid and electric vehicles?

Yes — Ryan has Level 4 high-voltage battery repair training, so hybrid and EV diagnostics are covered safely.
